Windrush: Three Generations: Stories of Hope, Courage & Success.

This book is a collection of stories from the Windrush generation and their descendants in West Yorkshire. It is an interesting read that captures the feelings and mood of Caribbean settlers from 1956 to the present day.

Looking at the arrival of early settlers and the ties that they have to the countries they left behind, the book features the voices of the first and second generation of Black people who have navigated life and built a future for themselves, and the next generation.

Looking at the impact that the Windrush generation have had on British society (food, music, culture, the arts, sports, to name a few) and advice for the next generation, the reader will understand what life was like in West Yorkshire for the book’s contributors.
